Editorial Constitution
Purpose
Editorial work exists to increase understanding — not to maintain cadence, perform thought leadership, or feed algorithms.
Binding rules
Evidence before narrative. Observation before conclusion. Ownership before strategy. Systems before theatre.
Prefer accurate limits over confident vagueness. Separate fact, interpretation, inference, and opinion.
A Field Note begins with a question. Conclusions arrive last — and only if earned.
Revision
Published work may be revised when understanding improves. Revisions are labelled. History is not erased.
